End of June update

Over the course of this project I have written 60,000 words. The book was originally planned to be 70,000 however it looks like I may be adding 10,000 to that count.

As it stands at the end of June I have 60,158 words written. I planned to be between 65 and 70,000 by tomorrow but it has been a hectic week...

I estimate to have the book finished by the end of July... The reason for this is that I had to add an extra chapter to the book as it felt the flow wasn't right without it. Therefore what had been two incidents in one chapter in my outline (that can be found in another post) has now become one chapter per each incident!

This means that the book will end up having 11 chapters instead of 10.

As of right now I have managed to keep remarkably well to my 7,000 words per chapter with one going over by about 1,000 words, that being the main over one...

After discussion with Andy and Jon I've rewritten the ending of the book (previously Lee was going to die, now he lives) and consequently having Lee live has meant the addition of a relationship (which may yet prompt an extra chapter). Lee living also adds the demand for an epilogue to round everything off nice and neatly in a little ribbon. Potentially the book could reach 85-90,000 words we'll see... It will definitely be complete by the end of July at which point I will move on to writing an ODDs spin off, the ODDs 3 and Sleeper which I hope to have one of done by the end of January assuming my life doesn't change too much!

Okay that is all for this update... I'll let you know when it reached 70,000 words and give you the 70,000th in an update... Also look out for a short story appearing on a new blog called 'Waveyswriting' which will be the new home of the ODDs and other writing related blog posts :)

God Bless
